1960s USSR Navy 'Bekesha' Arctic Shearling Coat

Soviet naval Bekesha, dated 1963, issued for use in northern maritime conditions. This model was commonly worn by personnel of the Northern Fleet and other Arctic naval units, designed to withstand extreme cold, wind, and sea exposure.

Unlike earlier leather versions, this example features a heavy cotton base treated with a latex/rubberized coating — a practical Cold War-era adaptation offering improved resistance to moisture and salt while reducing weight. The interior is fully lined with natural sheepskin for insulation in sub-zero temperatures.

A functional military garment from the early Cold War period, combining traditional Eastern European winter design with industrial Soviet materials and Arctic service history.

In good condition for its age, perfectly wearable. There are minor stains on the bottom; small patches of fur are missing.
