1980s Soviet 'VVS' Pilot Sheepskin Winter Jacket

This winter flight jacket was issued to pilots of the Soviet Air Force (VVS) during the late Cold War period. Designed for extreme conditions at high altitude, it combines a durable leather outer shell with a thick sheepskin lining, providing insulation and protection inside unheated cockpits.

Such jackets became an iconic element of Soviet aviation equipment — functional, heavy, and built for harsh winters and long missions. Over time many developed a distinctive worn patina from years of service.

The jacket is in decent condition — it has a few small stains and scuffs. One of the zippers on the pocket doesn't work. It's best to take the jacket to the dry cleaner; it smells like a storage room or garage.
