A Soviet GP-7 civil defence gas mask, dated 1985—an object born from the cold machinery of the late USSR.

Developed during the final decades of the Cold War, the GP-7 was stored in shelters and civil-defence depots, waiting for an emergency that might never come. Its black rubber facepiece, circular glass lenses and perforated metal voice diaphragm give it the severe appearance of an obsolete industrial apparatus—part protective equipment, part relic from an imagined mechanical future.

Presented with its original green metal filter, canvas carrying bag and accompanying components. The rubber remains well preserved and the adjustable head harness is intact. Minor surface wear, storage marks and oxidation around the metal fittings are present, adding depth to its dark, utilitarian character.
