1970s Christian Dior 'Thrashed' Wool Coat

Regular price $444.00 Sale price $333.00

This Christian Dior coat feels more like a relic than a garment. Likely dating to the late 1970s–1980s, it blends military elegance with a gothic, almost theatrical atmosphere — deep faded green wool, black velvet details, and heavy gold-tone buttons.

Its condition is “terribly beautiful”. The outer shell has aged with incredible character: soft fading, worn edges, and a dusty antique tone impossible to reproduce artificially. The inner lining is heavily distressed and torn throughout, exposing the construction beneath and adding to the coat’s haunting presence. There are also numerous small holes across the piece, many original buttons are missing, and several have been replaced over time with mismatched ones.

The faded green wool against the dark velvet collar and cuffs creates a melancholic, aristocratic mood — something between old European formalwear and forgotten opera costume archives. The wear here is not a flaw, but the entire character of the piece.

SIZE ≈S men’s. However, the coat was most likely originally designed as a women’s piece. The fit on a male body creates a very strong oversized draped silhouette with almost theatrical proportions.

The model is ≈178 cm tall and weighs ≈67 kg
