1940s Swiss Army 'Hobnail' Mountain Boots

Built from heavy leather with dense, hand-set metal studs across the soles. Made for hard mountain terrain, they feel closer to field equipment than ordinary footwear — rigid, heavy and brutally utilitarian.

The leather is heavily worn and darkened, with deep creasing, abrasions, stains and irregular areas of discoloration developed through years of use. The metal parts show oxidation and age. Only one lace remains. The worn surfaces and scarred soles give the pair a severe, almost sculptural presence.
