1940s Swiss Army Faded Mountain Smock

Built as functional alpine field garments, with a wide protective cut, heavy military cloth and a system of fabric ties. Two identical examples are available, but each carries its own pattern of stitched holes, old repairs, abrasions and worn edges.

The sleeves on both smocks have been shortened, most likely during service or later use after the original cuffs became heavily damaged. These are not preserved military pieces, but garments repeatedly worn, repaired and altered until the history of use became part of their construction.

Please do not expect the garment to be new or in perfect condition; there may be minor defects (used clothing).
