1930s Swiss Army Tornister Backpack

A pre-war military pack from a period when Swiss field equipment was still built from heavy leather, canvas and natural hide rather than synthetics.

The pony fur exterior gives it that unmistakable early military look; the surface shows scattered bald patches, while the leather has developed deep rubbing, darkening and age-polish. Despite this, the backpack remains in excellent condition for its age, with its structure and original details still well preserved.

A utilitarian piece from the interwar years — made for long service, and surviving with exactly the kind of wear that now gives it its presence.
