1920s British Bespoke Riding Breeches

Cut from a dense khaki twill and shaped with dramatically full thighs, reinforced knees and buttoned lower legs for wearing inside tall riding boots.

Tautz was one of London’s distinguished sporting tailors, particularly renowned for equestrian and military garments. The faded bespoke label appears to bear the name “Harold J. Colebrook Esq.” and may indicate a commission dating to 1926.

Heavily aged condition: numerous areas are worn through to rust-coloured underlying threads, with scattered stains and one carefully repaired hole. Despite this pronounced wear, the breeches retain a remarkably coherent silhouette—their patina reads as an integral part of the garment’s long, utilitarian history.

Please do not expect the garment to be new or in perfect condition; there may be minor defects (used clothing).
