1905 Dated Austro-Hungarian 'Croatian' Bespoke Wool Suit Trousers

Edwardian era bespoke trousers dated 1905, tailored by Victor Settelen in Bale, Istria — then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. A remarkable example of early 20th-century continental tailoring, featuring a very high rise, suspender buttons, rear buckle adjustment, and traditional hook fastening — all authentic details of the pre-WWI period.

Hand-crafted for a private client and preserved with its original tailor’s label and handwritten inscription, these trousers represent over a century of history. A rare archival garment that reflects the refined silhouette and construction standards of the Edwardian era.

Made from wool that is very pleasant to the touch. Great attention to detail and stitching. In excellent condition for its age, minimally dirty.
